Below are just a few of many e-mails I have received over the years. They really help keep me motivated!

Thank you so much. I taught school for over 25 years and must tell you that my students were always fascinated by Drawing Hand. It is probably the best investment I've ever made in shareware. The best bargain in the world.

Jeff,

Came across Artstudio pretty much by accident, and after reading the website for about 30 seconds downloaded the trial. 30 seconds after finishing the tutorial I had my credit card out for the full version. That's a new record for me! :)

Outstanding. I love it! Fascinating to watch - vain as it may be I've watched my own drawings over and again and shown loads of people!

Once again - thanks for a very cool piece of software and a novel new way of displaying my artwork.

regards,

Jason

Thank you!!! Not only do you make a fantastic product, but you also support it well!

As a fellow programmer (although I mainly do databases), I'm curious as to what the problem had been, and why it had suddenly changed like it did? Of course my main satisfaction is that you were able to so quickly fix the problem for me.

As to your advice... Thank you! I greatly appreciate it. I actually do try to think about how the drawing will "play out" and how to make it as interesting for the viewer as I can. I will heed your trick about the eyes, that's a GREAT suggestion.

30 years ago I used to be a fairly decent artist, won some awards and took quite a few classes. Then I just stopped one day. And that one day turned into another. And that one turned into 30 years. Then one day I noticed an advertisement from General Electric that had this floating "crayon" in its sidebar. When I moused over the "crayon" the mouse picked the "crayon" up and I was able to draw with it. I doodled around and then decided I'd had enough so I closed the window. Instead of closing, it asked me if I wanted to send what I had done to a friend. I thought not, it was just a quick doodle of my own image. I said no. But it asked me if I wanted to "preview" what I had drawn. What?!!! So I said... "Sure?". Well it played back my session and redrew the whole thing. So I decided to send it to a old high school buddy of mine that was in high school art club with me. To my surprise, he sent another version that he did using that same "program". This reminded me so much of our art club days (we used to compete a little I'll admit) that I sent another one back. And he sent another one back to me. We did this back and forth thing and each time tried to make a drawing that had a little more complexity. But we quickly found out that this (java applet I'm guessing) had severe limits. After only so many strokes of the "crayon", the earlier strokes erased themselves as you continued on. It was obviously reusing its very limited buffer. So I wondered if any "real" program existed that would not have such limits placed upon it. I did a Google search and also searched www.downloads.com. The end result was your program! What a find!

Next thing I know, I'm starting to "draw" again after all those years being away from it! And I began to remember why I used to do art in the first place.

So... Jeff, I truly own you big time!

P.S. I think any project you design for children will be blessed. Children are our future and I'm so sad to see all these programs that emulate killing, blood, and death. I have a 13 year old nephew who was "raised" on the realistically violent "modern" games of today. He tends to also be a bit violent in real life too. I'd so much rather see programs out there that would encourage a different kind of attribute in a child. I didn't have much access to my own nephew, but I live very close by to my 2 year old niece that I am currently drawing. Perhaps someday I'll buy your new project for her use.

Thanks so much again!

Hi, Jeff! Thanks for your excellent customer service, as usual! This is a cool idea for gift-giving...everyone has a computer, and spends far too much joyless time at it...my sister is an artist, and she may enjoy drawing some works for you...her b-day is in November, so I'm making a list of those I may buy for. As I've had the trial screen-saver on in the lab, six people have inquired, and I've given each of them your website address.

Thanks for looking into this. Continued success! Your cool product sells itself!

Best Regards,

Monica

Hello, Jeff,
Thank you for your prompt assistance. I had reason to contact you back in 1999 when I first purchased your Drawing Hand screensaver, and I remembered how helpful you were back then. You haven't changed through the years, it seems! Thank you.

Thank you guys for your help. I haven't been around for a while but recently I got a new monitor and I thought I would see what was new. The saver is better than exer. My 3 year old grandson and I enjoy wathching the animals together. The product along with great customer service make this a top 5 program on the net. Thank you guys again.

Thank You Jeff.

The only problem I have with your product is lost productivity. If I'm away from my desk and it comes up - I always want to wait until it finishes the picture before I resume work. :-) Keep up the good work.

Thank you

Hi Jeff,

I bought your Drawing Screen Saver Hand and ArtStudio quite some time ago. I enjoyed it for a while, then found another screen saver I liked and Drawing Hand got buried in a folder somewhere. After a hard disk crash I was reinstalling everything and ran across it and said Oh Cool I forgot I had this. Installed again and enjoyed it for a while, then it slowly got buried again. Well, after reformatting to make Windows work again and reinstalling everything, again I found Drawing Hand and set it up. To net this out, this is a really - REALLY cool program. I've wanted to write and tell you that for a long time. Great work - cool stuff.

Thanks,

Tim

Dear Jeff,

My husband recently gave me the best gift - your Art Studio. I absolutely love it.

I wonder if you would allow me to make a suggestion for a future version?

My best friend is an amputee and it occurred to me that someone with only one hand would find it enormously convenient to be able to have a way to toggle on or off the 'rub' function rather than having to hold down the Ctrl key while rubbing with the graphics tablet 'pen' (something she cannot do). I think I would find that quite convenient too since I like to sit comfortably with the tablet on my lap (and my feet up!) not always in reaching distance of the keyboard (even though I have a cordless one).

Would this be too difficult to organise? You may open up a whole new market there!

Best Wishes
Charmianne Dempsey

Note: ArtStudio was modified soon after receiving this e-mail so that the rub mode could be toggled on/off.
